Revealed: Schedule for local Tipperary village Country and Western festival

The Clogheen Country and Western festival will take place on the August bank holiday weekend, August 1 to 4.

The event will take place in St Paul's Community Hall, Clogheen.

Kicking the festivities off on the Thursday will be a 5k Country and Western race/walk.

The race is sponsored by Carey Pharmacy, Clogheen, and those taking part are encouraged to bring cowboy and cowgirl hats.

On Friday, DJ Owen Lonergan of TippFM will play a country music set.

Tickets cost €20, and are available from local shops and on eventbrite.

Country-themed fancy dress is mandatory, and there will be prizes for the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl on the night.

On Saturday, "Feed the Masses" will take place.

The event will include a barbecue, and many local musicians will play on the night.

Tickets are also €20 and available from the same places.

To close things out on the Sunday, the "National Sheep Race" will run.

Tote betting will be available on the night, along with a barbecue.
