Tipperary man to tackle Slievenamon ahead of Everest base camp

A Tipperary man is organising a charity hike up Slievenamon.

The walk will take place on Sunday, July 28, at 9am.

Stephen Hogan, from Clonmel, will be holding the event in aid of mental health and homelessness for Defence Force veterans.

The father of three is doing so to prepare for the Everest base camp he will be undertaking at a later date.

The charity is very close to Hogan's own heart, having served for 15 years himself.

All those wishing to partake in thenwalk will be awarded medals on the day.

Refreshments will also be served.

The meeting point for the walk is the Slievenamon car park at the top of Kilcash village.
