Tipperary historical society announce bumper schedule ahead of Heritage Week

Bournea Historical Society will hold their Annual historical drive next Sunday.

This year it will be taking place in the parish of Killea as part of National Heritage Week.

They will start in the village at 1pm.

The line-up is as follows:

GAA/Tommy Treacy with Jim Hamill.

Killea Church: Josephine Coffey.

Killea Dispensary: Josephine Coffey.

Killea Post Office: Josephine Coffey.

O’Sullivan’s Pub: Bernard O’Sullivan.

Old RIC Barracks: Doireann Kavanagh.

Graveyard: Johnny Fogarty.

St. James Well: Doireann Kavanagh.

Killea Creamery: Tim Quinlan.

The Burnt House/Mount Frisco: Jim Kennedy.

The Source of the Suir: Michael Costigan.

Refreshments will be served afterwards in Killea Community Hall.

Bournea Historical Society has held their Annual walk/drive over the last number of years and it has been very successful each time.

Previous historic drives took place through Courganeen, Clonakenny, Shanakill, Camblin, Knock, Dunkerrin and last year in Clonmore so if you are interested in local history or your family has a connection with the parish, Killea is will have something for you next Sunday.
