Scoil Mhuire Secondary School's invitation to its celebrations to mark 150 years of Mercy Education in Carrick-on-Suir and 50 years at Greenhill
Scoil Mhuire Secondary School will celebrate 50 years at its current location at Greenhill and 150 years of Mercy education in Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, September 28.
The school is inviting past pupils, parents, former staff members and the local community to join it in marking these special anniversaries at a liturgy celebration in St Nicholas Church at 2pm and ‘A Trip Down Memory Lane’ event in the school from 3.30pm to 6pm that day.
Scoil Mhuire PRO Louise O’Connor said the school is unable to issue individual invitations as it doesn’t have a database of past pupils.
“Please notify any past pupils or former staff members of Scoil Mhuire you know and ask them to alert their classmates and former colleagues,” she urged the public. “All are welcome.”
She encouraged people wishing to attend the celebration to follow Scoil Mhuire’s social media pages for more details. “We would appreciate if you could RSVP by September 17 to: celebration@scoilmhuirecos.ie
“We look forward to welcoming you all at the end of September to mark these anniversaries and to celebrate the legacy of Scoil Mhuire,” she added.
