A Tipperary family is raising funds for a hospital in memory of their late dad.
In memory of their dad, John Daly, Philip Nolan, Anthony Lillis and John Daly Jr will be running the Galway City half-marathon on October 5, to raise funds for a Clare hospital.
"We’re hoping to raise some money for the palliative care unit in Regina House in Kilrush, Co Clare, whose wonderful staff cared for dad in the end and have provided great help to the people of West Clare and beyond," said the organiser on the fundraiser page.
"We’ve already covered our own race entry fees and any additional fees will be covered by myself, therefore all funds raised will be donated directly to Regina House, via “Friends of Regina House”. These funds will help to directly benefit those within the care of the palliative care unit and residents in Regina House, with such services essential to the community of West Clare.
"Thank you in advance for any donation and any help to Regina House would be much appreciated by myself, my mother Mary and my siblings Martin and Vivienne."
So far, over €5,000 have been raised. You can donate to the fundraiser here.
