All roads led to Clonoulty village on Sunday, September 1 for the annual vintage rally in aid of South Tipperary Hospice Movement.
Tipperary was invaded with Volkswagens from every corner of the country and further afield, in what the club says was a fitting tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the VW Golf.
Irish Vintage Engine and Tractor Association were well represented on the day Seamus O'Grady, Chairman, and fellow committee members in attendance.
The club wish to thank the vintage and classic exhibitors who have supported them over the last 24 years, who have turned out in large numbers.
There is a large number of vintage cars, tractors together with a large collection of stationary engines and vintage memorabilia.
A touch of class was added to the day by the presence of the Cobh Animation Team, all dressed in period costume.
With over 20 trade stands, amusements, food, and live entertainment from Aishling Rafferty, Killian Music group and a DJ Francis there was something there for everyone.
The Sheaf Throwing competition ran in memory of one of the club's great supporters, the late Rory O’Dwyer.
The rally had competitors from all over Ireland with senior men, women, and junior competitions.
They would like to thank the sponsors of the perpetual cups, Simon’s Bar, Clonoulty and Bill Carey Engineering, Borrisoleigh.
With great enthusiasm ladies, gents, and juvenile teams all participated in a tug of war competition, which was a new addition to the rally.
They also wish to thank Tom Donovan, Padraig Kennedy and Joe Hammersley for the use of their fields on the day.
The club presented €15,000 to South Tipperary Hospice movement on Saturday, October 5.
