Local Tipperary town launches Christmas shoebox appeal project

It is the time of year again when thoughts turn to the Shoebox appeal.

This is a Team Hope project, where shoeboxes are filled with gifts, which are then delivered straight into the hands of children affected by poverty in Eastern Europe or Africa for Christmas.

Items suitable for the boxes include writing material, pencils, crayons, small toys, small items of clothing, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap etc.

A sum of €5 is required for each box which covers transportation, distribution, etc.

If anyone is interested in contributing towards this project, contact Kay Browne, on 087 918 5705, or Heather Evans on 086 825 3206.
