NRG Panel analysed how much electricity Tipperary residents can expect to produce from solar.
177 locations within Tipperary were captured in the study and calculations account for weather conditions, solar radiation, along with many other factors, for each area.
With potential to produce 3,878.06 kWh p/y, Carrick-On-Suir (Urban) takes the title of Best Place in Tipperary for solar, followed closely behind by Carrickbeg (Urban) with 3,874.72 kWh and Carrick-On-Suir (Rural) with 3,855.26 kWh.
At the opposite end of the table are Greenhall (3,415.39 kWh), Kilnarath (3,423.33 kWh) and Killoscully Village (3,435.08 kWh).
Of the major towns in Tipperary, Thurles was in 31st place, Cashel 44th, Nenagh 94th, Roscrea 126th, Tipperary Town 128th and Clonmel 131st.
The results of NRG Panel’s Solar Panels Tipperary study show that, with a 4 kWp system and a unit rate of 43 cents, Tipperary residents produce €1,581.60 worth of electricity p/y from solar, on average.
Most electricity is generated during the summer months before gradually decreasing.
