LATEST: Uisce Éireann issue major update in regard to water treatment plants

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply to homes and businesses following operational issues at both the Commons Water Treatment Plant and Dualla Water Treatment Plant respectively.

As a result customers in the surrounding areas are being impacted by an unplanned interruption to the water supply.

Expert crews are on the ground working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers. Repair works are scheduled to take place until 4pm this afternoon.

Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham said: “We would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply.”

Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
