Uisce Éireann responding to Reports of Discolouration for Customers Supplied by Fethard Regional Water Treatment Plant
Uisce Éireann wish to assure customers on the Fethard Regional Water Supply Scheme that the plant is now fully operational following overnight issues.
As water levels refill across the network, some customers are experiencing discolouration at the taps. We are treating this matter as a priority and crews are carrying out flushing on the network which should resolve any instances of discolouration this evening/early tomorrow.
Uisce Éireann advises customers not to drink discoloured water.
"In the event of discolouration, running the tap for several minutes will usually restore water to a clear colour. The water is safe to drink once running clear. If the issue remains unresolved, we encourage customers to contact us directly," said an Uisce Éireann spokesperson.
