Tipperary women's track and field team nominated for Canon Hayes award

The Annual Canon Hayes Recreation Awards, now in its 25th year, will take place in Tipperary Town on Friday, December 27, at 2:30pm.

The Tipperary Women's Track and Field team have been nominated for the team award after winning the National Inter County League Premier Division for the first time back in July.

Moyne AC had three athletes competing on the team, Emma Delaney, 400m and 4x400m Relay. Kate Delaney, 2k Steeplechase, Katie Bergin, 100m, 200m and 4x100m Relay.

The team was managed by Martin Flynn and selector and stats, Geraldine Hickey.

The awards will be presented by former Irish rugby international Alan Quinlan.

Other recipients include Olympians Sharlene Mawdsley, Athletics, Daire Lynch, Rowing and Aimee Leigh Murphy, Rugby.
