Tipperary County Council received €400,000 under the Community Recognition Fund to disperse as grants to communities hosting significant numbers of people war torn Ukraine and other countries
A large majority of applicants seeking a slice of the county’s €400,000 Community Recognition Fund allocation were left disappointed, Tipperary County Council’s monthly meeting was informed.
The Council’s Director of Economic, Community & Rural Development Services Brian Beck reported the Council received 51 applications for this scheme but could only approve a maximum of eight as the minimum grant allocation was €50,000.
He said the Council was waiting to see if a new call-out for applications for this scheme will be issued this year and promised to keep the unsuccessful applications on file in the event this happens.
The Community Recognition Fund supports the development of community infrastructure and facilities in communities that have welcomed in and are hosting significant numbers of people from war torn Ukraine and other countries.
