New town and village renewal scheme launches as towns in Tipperary are invited to apply

The 2025 Town and Village Renewal Scheme, designed to support the revitalization of rural Ireland and build greater resilience in our town centres through regeneration projects, has been launched and communities in Tipperary have been asked to apply for funding under the new scheme.

Up to €500,000 per Local Authority is available for the acquisition of vacant or derelict buildings or lands for town regeneration purposes.

Welcoming the announcement of the 2025 Scheme, Deputy Michael Lowry says that this Scheme continues to have a hugely positive impact in Ireland’s rural towns and villages. ‘This further investment will enhance and strengthen this work, and I encourage communities across North Tipperary and South-West Kilkenny to engage with it’ he says.

Funding is available to stimulate town centre economic and social regeneration and resilience, with a focus on tackling vacancy and dereliction to bring additional footfall into town centres. Funding is also available for the pre-development costs associated with projects to help communities develop applications for future funding calls.

Rural Development continues to be a key priority for the Government with a view to supporting the revitalisation and resilience of rural Ireland, transforming towns and villages and creating better places to live, work and participate in their local community.
