A Cashel councillor has appealed to Tipperary County Council to build a footpath in part of Clonoulty village in the wake of a traffic accident where a young girl was knocked down and airlifted to hospital.
Cllr Roger Kennedy called on the Council to secure funding to construct the footpath between Clonoulty and the local GAA field to improve road safety.
He told the Council’s July meeting the girl injured in the recent accident was thankfully recovering.
He noted the Council has unsuccessfully applied for funding for this footpath for the past three years.
The Council’s Director of Roads Services Liam Brett promised to liaise with the district engineer in relation to securing funding to build the footpath.
