Deputy Michael Lowry confirmed that the Health Information and Quality Authority has provided formal written approval for the next stage of the facility’s use.
“HIQA have now approved clearance for the new unit at Nenagh to be transferred as a nursing home for use by St Conlon’s,” he said.
“St Conlon’s will take up the first 25 beds and the remaining 25 beds will be used as nursing home care for Nenagh and district. So it’s a case now of opening the unit for St Conlon’s as quickly as possible – its anticipated it won’t happen any later than October," said Deputy Lowry.
