New homelessness statistics have been released by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage

REVEALED: Shocking number of people in Tipperary accessing emergency accommodation

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has today released the monthly homelessness report for September 2025.

In the South-East region, 346 people are reported as accessing emergency accommodation.

250 of these are single adults.

207 of these homeless are male, with 139 being female.

46 of those accessing emergency accommodation in this region are between 18 and 24, with 193 being between 25 and 44, 97 between the ages of 45 and 64, and 10 over the age of 65.

264 of those in the region in emergency accommodation are Irish, with 55 being from the EEA or UK, and 27 being from outside of the EEA.

Within the South East region, on the week of September 22 to 28, it is reported that 87 people in Tipperary accessed emergency accommodation.

Within the South-East region, it is reported that 72 families accessed emergency accommodation between September 22 and 28, with 58 of these being single-parent families.
