Gardaí from the Tipperary Roads Policing Unit reported that the driver was found to be without a valid driving licence, insurance, or NCT certificate. Officers also noted numerous empty cans of alcohol inside the vehicle.

A roadside breath test was administered, which the driver failed. As a result, the individual was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and the vehicle was seized. Gardaí confirmed that court proceedings are expected to follow.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the Tipperary Gardaí urged the public never to drive under the influence of alcohol. They highlighted the incident as a reminder of the dangers and legal consequences of drink driving.

The operation was part of routine patrols by the Tipperary Roads Policing Unit, which regularly monitors traffic in the region to ensure compliance with road safety laws and to detect potential offenders.
