Nenagh is all set for its annual Halloween festival, Spleodar, which opens this weekend.
The three-day event will cater for children with a series of workshops performances, fashion as well as a selection of shows for all ages at Nenagh Arts Centre.
Participants will be able to explore the endless possibilities of robotics and engineering in Lego Robotics and Sphero challenges or test their competitive side at the MineVention tournament.
The artistic among them can try their hand at face painting, or create special effects on your body – the perfect look for the Hallowe’en celebrations.
There will also be a monster doodle and bussing cartoonists create their own comic book with award-winning illustrator and cartoonist Fintan Taite.
And if you don't know what to read over the coming months, you make an appointment with the Book Doctor to get a prescription for your next read or develop your own writing and storytelling skills at Scríobh.
Meanwhile on the stage, the Hairy and the Fairy take children on a theatrical, musical journey and the three little pigs will pit their wits against the big bad wolf.
Topping the bill at this year’s festival is INFERNO on Saturday evening in which three hapless pirates take the audience on a fiery and spectacular adventure in this free outdoor show. The festival concludes with a fireworks display filled with sound and colour on Monday.
With something for everyone at this year’s festival, events are booking fast. Further details and tickets from Nenagh Arts Centre, Banba Square, Nenagh, www.spleodar.ie or phone 067- 34400.
