Tipperary ETB honours students at annual awards

Tipperary ETB honoured its students and teachers at its annual awards ceremony held in the Horse and Jockey Hotel.

The winners were presented with an award and a certificate for their achievements in the following categories: Best Leaving Certificate, Best Leaving Certificate Applied, Best Personal Achievement and Best Sporting Achievement.

The awards acknowledge the efforts of students, teachers, schools and centres to achieve continuous improvements and excellence in academic studies and personal development.

Students from Borrisokane Community College, Coláiste Chluain Meala, Clonmel; Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn, Clonmel; Coláiste Dun Iascaigh, Cahir; Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed, Thurles; Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré; Comeragh College, Carrick-on-Suir; Nenagh College, Newport College, Scoil Ruáin, Killenaule; St Ailbe’s, Tipperary Town; Youthreach, Céim Eile, Templemore; Youthreach, Roscrea Education Centre; Youthreach Cappawhite, were represented at the ceremony, which was conducted by ETB chief executive Fionuala McGeever.

The presentation of certificates was carried out by ETB chairperson Cllr John Hogan.

Ms McGeever thanked guest speaker Tipp hurler Dan McCormack, who brought along the Liam McCarthy Cup.
