Tipperary's Winter Wonderland

Tipperary's Winter Wonderland

Mairead Hayes on Slievenamon last weekend

It’s nice and warn in The Nationalist office but your snow photos continue to shower down on us!

Thanks to everyone who sent us the photographs of their snowy adventures in recent days – You are making the hills around South Tipp look like a beautiful ski destination!

Today’s main photograph is not actually taken on the piste in central Europe – it is, in fact, Tipperary’s own Slievenamon last weekend! Thanks to Mairead Hayes for sending us her snowy photos!

Below is the scene that greeted Mairead!

Thanks also to the Mid Tipp Hillwalkers who also ventured high into the snowy hills last weekend and sent us the photo below to prove it!

Last Sunday, over 30 walkers took to the hills in beautiful walking conditions – cold with snow underfoot, but crisp and dry – with Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers.  Bridget Browne led a the A walk from King’s Yard taking in Galeymore, where the beautiful photo above was taken!

Ray Creaney took the Bs on a circuit in the West Galtees and Tina Bourke and Brid Ryan Bourke brought the Ramblers on a new loop above Templederry.

This coming Sunday, 27 November, A and C walks will leave Cashel at 11am.  Don’t forget, also, that our annual Holly Walk will take place in less than three weeks’ time on 11 December.

As always new walkers are welcome to come and join us; just bring boots, suitable clothes and a packed lunch.  A change of clothes and particularly footwear for after the walk is also strongly advised.  For further information about all upcoming events, visit us on Facebook, or call Dan Condren at 087 2273082.

Have you seen the snow in the Knockmealdowns?
