Christmas can be a hard time for many people. Loneliness, sadness and hardship can make this time of year difficult for some.
So to brighten up the darker days of December the South Tipperary Mental Health Consumer Panel, in conjunction with The Mayor's Fund, has organised Christmas Under The Arches.
This is the first year of this partnership and promises to be the biggest and best ever. Local artists from Western Studios, under the guidance of local artist Mia Carney, will provide artworks and decorations.
All donations of non-perishable goods as well as food vouchers, coal vouchers and cash, in aid of the Mayor’s Fund, will be welcome.
Tipp FM will have an outside broadcast unit from 11am until 2pm.
Also on Saturday, the County Museum has organised a Christmas family movie experience that will be held at Liam Daly's in O'Connell Street at 2pm.
The entry per family is €10, which includes light refreshments and free entry to the Santa Dash.
Christmas-themed outfits are encouraged , as people get into the festive spirit just over a week before Christmas Day.
It's essential to book this event in advance through the County Museum - phone 076-1065252 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
