A man in his 50’s has died following a tragic accident on the River Suir earlier today.
It is believed the man got into difficulty while out kayaking this morning on the River Suir at Garnavilla, Cahir.
Rescue 117 Coastguard helicopter and Cahir River Search and Rescue were called and treated the man at the scene however he passed away a short time later.
His body has been taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.
