Lip Sync Gortnahoe
Lip Sync for Gortnahoe will take to the stage of The Dome in Thurles on Saturday 2nd December.
This amazing fundraising campaign which kicked off earlier this year will host it's final event this weekend. It is a joint venture for Gortnahoe National School IT equipment and for an AstroTurf pitch for use by all of the community in Gortnahoe Glengoole Parish.
Twelve acts will take to the stage at 8pm on Saturday and excitement is at fever pitch in the parish thanks to the recent successful fundraising events organised by the different acts. During the year coffee mornings, cake sales, a Tractor run and an over 40's football match, to name but a few, were organised by our acts to raise funds for the worthy cause of the local children. All of these events have been building the interest and excitement in this upcoming event.
Participants have been busy practising their moves for a number of months so the audience should expect a great night of entertainment with plenty of laughter throughout no doubt.
Judges for the night are former Tipperary hurling captain Eoin Kelly, fashion designer Heidi Higgins, Evelyn Cusack of Met Eireann, whose mother was a teacher at Gortnahoe NS, and comedy duo The Two Johnnies.
MC for the night is actor and comedian Alan Shortt who you may recognise from the satirical show “Bull Island”.
Tickets for the night are selling fast and cost €20. They are available from Gortnahoe NS (056) 8834390.
After the winner has been announced the entertainment will continue into the night with a disco.
So get your tickets for the Dome for Saturday 2nd December and enjoy what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment for a terrific local cause. Doors open at 7.00pm with the first act taking to the stage at 8pm.
