Severe Weather Update - take care on roads with meltwater

Roads my flood as snow melts

Tipperary motorists are being warned to stay alert to road conditions as snow melts and roads may experience localised flooding.

Tipperary's Severe Weather Team met this morning to review the evolving severe weather situation.

Melting snow may result in localised surface water ponding, where drains and gulleys are blocked and people are advised to watch out for accumulations of melt water which could lead to flooding.

All major traffic routes salted and remain passable with care.

Attention is now focused on local roads to ensure that access is available to the public by this evening (Monday) where possible.

Council outdoor crews continuing to clear footpaths within all the urban centres and villages throughout the county.

Tipperary County Council's Civic Offices are open to the public and normal services have resumed around the county. Updates will continue to be posted to the Council’s website and social media sites throughout the day and members of the public can contact the Council’s customer services centre by dialing 0761 06 5000 or emailingcustomerservices@ tipperarycoco.ie
