Horse racing trainer Aidan O'Brien to be honoured as Cashel Person of the Year 2017

Aidan O'Brien - Cashel Person of the Year 2017

Legendary horse racing trainer Aidan O'Brien will be honoured this evening as Cashel Person of the Year 2017. 

Cashel Lions Club will honour Mr O'Brien at a ceremony in Halla na Feile, Cashel, at 7.30pm this evening ( Thursday March 15th). 

Since 1996, Mr  O'Brien has been the private trainer at Ballydoyle Stables near Cashel in Co. Tipperary for John Magnier and his Coolmore Stud associates.

Mr O'Brien's stellar career includes dozens of major wins all over the world. Most recently, Mr O'Brien set a new world record by training 26 Group or Grade 1 winners in one calendar year, beating the US-based Bobby Frankel's 2003 mark of 25.
