A body has been found in the river Suir by search teams looking for missing Carrick on Suir teenager Elisha Gault.

Fourteen year old Elisha has been missing from home since St. Paltricks Day.

The discovery was made shortly after 7pm this evening on a section of the River Suir near Killowen, Portlaw.

Gardaí say the body of a female was spotted by the Rescue 117 Coastguard helicopter from Waterford.

The body has been taken to University Hospital Waterford for formal identification and a post-mortem examination.
