Marching against horse cruelty in Clonmel.

A crowd of over 250 people gathered in Clonmel on Thursday to protest at recent incidents of horse cruelty in the town and county and to call for the appointment of a horse warden.

They marched from Irishtown to the Council offices led by two beautiful rescue ponies, Beyonce and Spirit.

They all signed and delivered letters to the county council.

They were joined by Mayor Catherine Carey who has highlighted cases of horse cruelty in recent months.

Marchers chanted – . "What do we want, a horse warden, No excuse for animal abuse”.

More protests will follow and a national protest will be on the cards for October.
