Burglars flee Tipperary Town store when fire alarm goes off

Burglars abandoned a break-in to a mobile phone store in Tipperary Town when their entry set off the fire alarm.

The criminals entered the Carphone Warehouse Store at Tipperary Town Shopping Centre on the Limerick Road through an emergency exit at about 4am last Wednesday, April 11. However they fled when the fire alarm went off. No property was reported stolen from the shop.

A Tipperary Town Garda Station spokesman said CCTV footage showed a dark coloured BMW estate car leaving the shopping centre car park and driving in the direction of Limerick.

He appealed to anyone who saw this vehicle or suspicious activity in the vicinity of the Carphone Warehouse that night to contact Tipperary Town Garda Station at (062) 51212.
