Tipperary Co-op has sold SuperValu to new owners.
The Board of Tipperary Co-op has agreed the sale and transfer of the Co-op’s SuperValu business in Tipperary town to AG & Jacob Ltd.
The store will continue in operation as SuperValu and current employees will be retained in the transfer.
John Daly, CEO of Tipperary Co-op said that the store has been an integral part of the Co-op since the 1990s and he thanked the customers, employees and management for their contribution to the business over the years.
He wished the new owners and all employees every success with their ambitious development plans for the business.
Gordon and Anna, the Directors of AG & Jacob Ltd., which is a family run business said they welcome the opportunity to serve the SuperValu customers in Tipperary and are looking forward to working in the local community.
“AG & Jacob Ltd will invest in the Store to modernise it to continue its progress and meet current and future strong sales growth in the region. This is a welcome development for Tipperary town, current and future SuperValu customers and for our employees,” Mr Bennett said.
