President Michael Higgins is to visit Birdhill

President Michael D Higgins will visit Birdhill on Saturday, May 19, at 12.30pm in recognition of the village being named overall winner in the National Tidy Towns competition 2017.

He will address a gathering in the local park and unveil a plaque commemorating the community's success in such a prestigious and competitive annual contest.

Members of the community have been busy in recent weeks preparing for the event and a céad míle fáilte will be extended to everyone.

Refreshments will be provided, local talents / crafts / produce will be showcased and guided tours will be facilitated for visitors.

Later that night, an Evening of Song and Music in the marquee will help everyone to relax and unwind after a hectic few weeks.
