The Tipperary International Song of Peace Contest will take place in Tipperary, Ireland, on October 6th, 2018.
The organisers are now looking for entries for the contest (from all over the world) - Songs of peace, love, harmony, in fact anything that one feels constitutes a 'Sense of Peace'. The first prize is a cheque for €1,500 and a Crystal Award.
The closing date for receipt of entries is July 27th, 2018. Entry forms are now available by contacting tipppeace@gmail.com to request an entry form.
Nathaniel Cabanero and his wife Judie Alegarme were the winners of the 2017 Contest. The couple are originally from the Philippines but currently reside in Co. Donegal.
The Tipperary Song of Peace Contest is supported by IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation).
Tipperary is famed in song and story from World War 1 when the marching song "It's a long way to Tipperary" was sung by troops as they went to war.
Modern Tipperary is now very much associated with peace through the work of Tipperary Peace Convention and through the awarding of the annual prestigious Tipperary International Peace Award.
