Co. Tipperary man won €500,000 lottery ticket purchased in Carrick-on-Suir

The €500,000 winning National Lottery ticket purchased in Carrick-on-Suir's Texaco Spar Service Station last Friday was won by a Co. Tipperary man, who purchased the ticket while on his lunchbreak.

The National Lottery said the lucky winner of the Daily Million Draw wished to remain anonymous but now that he has come forward,  speculation over his identify will undoubtedly intensify locally.

The National Lottery confirmed today (Tuesday) that the ticket purchaser had come forward and was from Co. Tipperary. He told The National Lottery he purchased the ticket while on his lunch break in Carrick-on-Suir. He popped into the Texaco Spar shop and bought a sandwich along with a Daily Million Quick Pick ticket.

Find out what he plans to do with his winnings by reading our story in the print edition of The Nationalist in shops tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
