Gardai investigate theft of two vans in South Tipperary

Two vans were stolen from the Ardfinnan area and Clogheen on the same night last week.

One of the stolen vans was burned out in Clogheen village and gardai believe the two thefts are linked.

A Cahir Garda Station spokesman said a blue 06 KK Citroen Berlingo van was stolen from Ballineety, Ardfinnan between 10pm on Wednesday, June 6 and 7.45am the following morning.

The van was found gutted by fire in Clogheen village. Meanwhile, a silver Ford Galaxy van was stolen from Fr Sheehy Terrace in Clogheen the same night. It has since been returned to its owner.

A Cahir Garda spokesman said they were following a definite line of enquiry into van thefts. He appealed to anyone with information that may assist the Garda investigation  to contact Cahir Garda Station at (052) 7441222.
