Jack Lawlor will take part in the upcoming U18 international tournament in Brandenburg Germany.

The tournament starts on July 3 in Frankfurt.

This is a massive achievement for the very talented 81kg boxer, and a tribute to his family, his coach Alex Boyd and the very successful Thurles boxing club.

Jack has been training in the high-performance squad in Dublin for the last six weeks preparing under the guidance of the very experienced coach Philip Sutcliff who has trained the likes of the world famous Conor McGregor. We at Thurles Boxing Club are very proud to have a boxer like Jack in the club who is a role model both inside and outside the ring. Jack has worked extremely hard for this chance and we're sure he will give it his all. Best of luck to Jack and the town is behind you.
