Breaking: Michael Lowry and company Garuda fined a total of €25,000 at Circuit Criminal Court

Tipperary TD is disqualified from being a company Director for three years 

Tipperary Independent TD Michael Lowry has been fined €15,000 and his company Garuda Ltd €10,000 arising out of the tax trial which concluded today at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin.

Deputy Lowry has also been disqualified from being a company director for three years by Judge Martin Nolan who passed sentence this afternoon following the jury trial.

The poll topping TD who got 13,064 first preference votes in the last General Election was before the court arising out of charges brought by the DPP through the Revenue Commissioners. The trial lasted almost two weeks.
