Co. Tipperary community defibrillator project trains its first volunteers

A defibrillator sponsored by Quality Recycling Ltd is presenting to Dr Sabine Eggers and Anne Walsh of Ahenny & Faugheen Defibrillator Project in June.

Ahenny & Faugheen Defibrillator Project's first AED and CPR training evening took place in the clubhouse in Faugheen on Tuesday, July 14 thanks to funding donated by an anonymous donor and Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club.

Thirteen volunteers were trained at the course run by the Premier First Aid Training team.

All the participants felt confident after the two and a half hours training in CPR and AED theory and practice to put their names and phone numbers down on the call out list.

The training was funded by a €300 donation from an anonymous donor and a cheque for more than €300  presented by Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club President Ann Ellis.

The next training session for 12 volunteers on August 16 will be kindly  sponsored by Carrick Lions Club. The Ahenny defibrillator box has been mounted and the defibrillator is now in place in case of an emergency.
