Cervical screening scandal: Vicky Phelan talk in Nenagh postponed due to report launch

Vicky Phelan

Due to the publication this week of the Scally Report into the CervicalCheck Scandal which was exposed by Vicky Phelan, the public meeting at which Vicky was due to speak this Thursday, September 13, in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh has changed date.

The meeting will now take place on Monday, September 24, at 7:30pm in the Abbey Court Hotel.

Vicky will meet local people and groups to discuss her story and why she is fighting for justice for the victims of the cervical check scandal. She will also outline why she believes that vaccinations are so important to help protect future generations. Her story is truly remarkable as she took on the health service and the State to win her case while also refusing to give in to any confidentiality clauses in order to ensure her story could be told. As a result, many more women and families affected by the cervical check screening process failures have also been able to come forward.

She has fought to ensure that all the women affected and their families are now getting the supports they deserve.

Ms Phelan is visiting Nenagh at the invitation of local TD Alan Kelly. Admission is free.
