Clonmel Credit Union appoints new CEO Padraig Enright

Outgoing Clonmel Credit Union CEO Paul Davey welcomes his successor Padraig Enright to the position.

 

The board of Clonmel Credit Union have announced the appointment of Pádraig Enright as the new Chief Executive Officer. Padraig is taking up role upon the retirement of Paul Davey.

Pádraig has previously held a number of senior management positions in the financial services industry. He worked with Bank of Ireland as a Branch manager, Regional manager and Director, ICS building Society.

More recently, Pádraig worked with KBC Bank Ireland as Head of Retail Network and Insurance & Investments. He will bring his considerable experience to the role of developing Clonmel Credit Union for the benefit of all its members.  

Pádraig is very much looking forward to working with the team in Clonmel CU, volunteers and all stakeholders in the years ahead. He said that his focus will be on “delivering a quality proposition and ever evolving service to the membership and our local market.  The challenge in the years ahead is to meet the changing needs of our members In Clonmel Credit Union, while maintaining and developing the personal service and focus on members that our Credit Union is renowned for. The values and ethos of the Credit Union are unique in the Irish marketplace and no other financial services provider takes the approach we do – we focus on our members; first, foremost and totally”

Pádraig took up the role of CEO on the 12th September 2018.  

Paul Davey who has managed Clonmel Credit Union since early 2010 expressed his appreciation to all the volunteers and staff that provided such excellent support over the last 9 years.

Paul highlighted some of the milestones that were delivered by the team during his tenure such as the extension of Clonmel services into Fethard and Mullinahone, the introduction of online payments, efts and the introduction of quick lodge lodgement system. Clonmel Credit Union has thrived during Paul’s time as CEO and assets have grown from €120m in 2010 to close to €200m, with member’s reserves having doubled to €43m as at today.

In reflecting back on his time as CEO, he said the two elements that stand out is Clonmel Credit Union commitment to the developments within our community and the almost unique front counter service that is provided to its membership. Paul is looking forward to his retirement from the financial sector. He wished Padraig, the Staff and Officers of the credit Union continued success in the years ahead.
