Carrick-on-Suir cancer support group is urgently seeking new accommodation

Members of Carrick-on-Suir's Cancer Care & Share Group at the coffee morning in the Carraig Hotel last week.

Up to 80 people attended Carrick-on-Suir's Cancer Care and Share Committee coffee morning in the function room of the Carraig Hotel last Friday.

The event raised €766, which will be used to fund the voluntary community group's work.

Cancer Care and Share is based in the Nano Nagle Resource Centre and offers support, advice and help to all of those directly or indirectly affected by cancer.

The group offers the following services free of charge: counsellors, a specialist in prosthesis measurements, a wig advisor, Reiki treatments and beauty therapists.

The Group is urgently seeking a permanent room/premises and any suggestions of help to find this will be welcomed. For further information or to book any appointments for the services offered by Cancer Care & Share Tel: (087) 981 3954.

Meanwhile, Cancer Care & Share Group Committee Chairperson Mary Hickey thanked the Carraig Hotel's staff for kindly facilitating the coffee morning and everyone who attended for their brilliant support of the event.

She also thanked members of Carrick-on-Suir Men’s Shed and River Rescue who also attended. Prizes were kindly donated by local people and businesses for a raffle, which was a huge success.
