"It was a privilege and a pleasure to have had him since he was a three year old, he could only be described as a gentleman.

"We want to say a big thank you to everyone in Leopardstown who were so good to us and got us down to be with him in his final moments. The yard feels empty tonight, rest easy big fella."

"Battle of Ridgeway was a special horse — brave, genuine, and full of heart. We were immensely proud to see him run on such a big stage, and he gave everything, as he always did.

"We’d like to acknowledge and thank Hassett Racing for their care, professionalism, and support throughout. Our thoughts are with everyone involved.

"We also want to sincerely thank all who have reached out with messages, kind words, and support. The compassion shown by friends, customers, and the wider racing community has meant a great deal at a very difficult time.

"Rest easy, Battle of Ridgeway. You won’t be forgotten."
