Cllr Siobhán Ambrose with her mother Joan at the count centre in Thurles
Cllr Siobhán Ambrose, who was elected on the first count in the Clonmel Electoral Area with a total of 1,512 first preferences, says she will continue to do her best for the people of Clonmel and district.
“I have never been afraid to make difficult decisions that mean there will be investment in Clonmel and the Clonmel District,” she says.
The Fianna Fáil councillor says that in the last five years she proposed the adoption of the biggest budget in the history of the council.
She said that the budget that she and others voted for has ensured that match funding is available for the government grant of an estimated €70 million-€100 million being sought for future developments in Clonmel.
She had shown Darragh O’Brien, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage around the town three times in the last year and a half, viewing the projects that need investment, as part of her campaign to secure that funding for Clonmel.
