John McGrath named on the bench for Tipperary ahead of Cork clash in Munster League final

John McGrath has been named on the bench for Tipperary as Liam Cahill looks to win his first competition as Tipperary senior boss against Cork in Sunday's Munster Hurling League final in Pairc Ui Rinn.

The Loughmore man will feature for Tipperary for the first time since rupturing his achilles tendon in the Munster Hurling Championship against Clare last April.

From the team that beat Clare in Nenagh a few weeks ago, several new faces come into the starting line up with Patrick Maher starting his first game of the year at full forward along with another start for Rhys Shelly in the goals while the experienced Cathal Barrett lines out at number two.

Conor McCarthy and Cian O'Dwyer will make their first starts for Tipperary, with Podge Campion, Jason Forde and Conor Bowe also coming in, while there is another McGrath warming the bench with team captain Noel McGrath likely to see his first action of 2023.

The game is fixed for Pairc Ui Rinn this Sunday at 3pm. See full matchday panel below.
