A wonderful evening was had in Younges the Ragg on Saturday night where the Mid Tipperary GAA board reflected and acknowledged the 2022 GAA season with numerous awards and presentations to distribute on the night.

Referees present picked up medals from the 2020,2021 & 2022 seasons and were thanked for their work in the smooth running of all games.
Presentations were made to outgoing officers Liz Flanagan, Jonathan Cullen and Morgan Lanigan for their service to the Mid Board over the years.
Awards were then given to four players who excelled throughout the year as well as two clubs for their success on and off the pitch. Winners were as follows:
Young Hurler of the Year - Joe Caesar (Holycross Ballycahill GAA)
Senior Hurler of the Year - Podge Campion (Drom & Inch GAA club)
Young Footballer of the Year - Liam McCormack (Thurles Sarsfields GAA)
Senior Footballer of the Year - Jack Butler (Upperchurch Drombane GAA)
Intermediate Club of the Year - Moyne Templetuohy Gaa
Senior Club of the Year - Upperchurch Drombane
Before the final award of the night a presentation was made to Noel Dundon, formerly of the Tipperary Star. Noel spent 28 years informing the Gaels of Tipperary on all GAA matters and all associated with the mid Tipperary GAA sincerely thanked Noel for his work and coverage of games over the years.
The final award of the evening is the Hall of Fame Award which was chosen by President Liam Hennessy was given to John Hackett of the Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club.
John has given a lifetime of dedicated service to his club, division and county and is a worthy recipient. President and club mate Liam Hennessy presented John with his award while Mid Secretary Catherine Dunne presented his wife Ann with a bouquet of flowers.
Chairman Joe O’Sullivan then addressed the room and congratulated all our winners and their clubs. He thanked everyone that made the evening possible and wished everyone well for the 2023 season.
