Think spring with Refresh Thurles Tidy Towns

As the days get noticeably longer, this is the time for planning for the year ahead.

The first place we need to start is in our garden on Rossa Street where thanks to Conor Stakelum and family, we have our storage shed.

The flower beds there had a beautiful selection of wild flowers, and they need to be prepared and sown again. All help for this will be gratefully received.

We have some other sites as well where we have attended to beds of flowers and shrubs, and you can contribute by helping continue this work.

We have a good selection of high visibility vests, gloves, pickers and litter collection bags, and we will organise litter picks in selected areas as circumstances allow.

I think it’s important to emphasise that if you join us, you will be most welcome and can contribute in whatever way suits you best.

There is no pressure to do anything or be anywhere unless it suits you. We will meet next Saturday, February 11 at 12 noon in the garden in Rossa Street. It’s between the Credit Union and Stakelum’s Stationary & Office Supplies, and chat to you about making Thurles a really Tidy Town in 2023.

Do come and help us to make a start. You will be most welcome. Facebook page is
