Refresh Thurles get summer ready at last weekend's preparation day

Our Refresh Thurles group met at our garden headquarters on Rossa Street on Saturday at 12 noon. We welcomed new members Gerry and his daughter Emily, and we all did some work preparing the garden for the Spring and Summer.

We will have our work cut out to have as beautiful an array of wild flowers as we had in previous years. We checked our inventory of bags, pickers, gloves and high visibility vests to be ready for the An Taisce Annual Spring clean up in April.

We discussed other areas in town where litter is a continuing problem and will hope to arrange a clean up.

We have cleaned up the flower bed opposite St Patrick's graveyard on several occasions, where littering with bottles and cans is a continuing problem.

We will attend to this again soon. We have a list of flower beds that need to be planted now, and if you can join us or be of assistance, contact us on Facebook: RefreshThurles and on Email: refreshthurles@gmail.com
