Tipperary Chamber of Commerce celebration to be held in Cahir

Finance Minister will be the guest of Tipperary Chamber of commerce in Cahir on February 23

County Tipperary Chamber will this year host its first Presidents’ Lunch on February 23.
The event is being held to celebrate the recognition of past Presidents and its history.
Finance Minister Michael McGrath will be the guest speaker at the event which will be held at the Cahir House Hotel,

Clonmel Chamber was established by local business people including John F O’Gorman, the coach-builder and William Magner, in 1925, to represent the interests of businesses, both large and small, across the county and its environs.

Speaking about the event Michelle Aylward, CEO of County Tipperary Chamber, commented that minute books dating back to the early 1950s were recently discovered during renovations.

MINUTE BOOKS
“One of its most notable achievements was in the 1960s when it undertook a project to attract a multi-national business to Clonmel to create employment.   At a meeting of the board of the Chamber on the evening of January 26 1965, at the Ormonde Hotel, the President, Mr Brian P. Duffy, informed the attendees that Scheisser had agreed to open a factory in Clonmel,” said the CEO.
