CBS Thurles students attend a ceremony honouring 175 years of the Irish Flag

Last week, three TY students Sean Shanahan, Thomas Commins and Cormac Fitzpatrick along with Ms O’Dwyer travelled to SETU Campus in Waterford.

They attended a wonderful ceremony to celebrate 175 years of the Irish Flag. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar gave an inspirational speech about the importance of our national flag, its history, and its legacy.

He spoke of the importance of understanding the history of the flag and its message of peace and inclusion. Each school was presented with an Irish Flag, which will fly proudly outside the school.
