Jason Forde will be out of action for four weeks

Tipperary will be without the influential Jason Forde for the rest of the Munster senior hurling campaign owing to the hamstring injury picked up against Cork last Saturday night.

Liam Cahill confirmed that his freetaker will be out of action for four weeks which is a huge blow to the Tipperary boss as he prepares for two upcoming games against Limerick and Waterford.

The injury occured just past the quarter of an hour mark against Cork and initial reports post game suggested that influential forward would be back in time for the Limerick game however that isn't the case and Liam Cahill said the Silvermines attacker "will be out of action for 4 weeks".

The full statement from the Ballingarry native said: "Contrary to incorrect reports earlier this week, Jason did in fact suffer hamstring damage during the Cork game and as a result he will be out of action for four weeks."

Currently Tipperary and Cork lead the way in the Munster championship table with three points. The momentum in the championship could change after tomorrow evening's game between Waterford and Clare in Thurles. All five teams are still in the hunt for honours.

Both Tipp games will be in FBD Semple Stadium, with Limerick coming to town on Sunday week.
