RIP: Beloved grandmother of Tipp camogie captain passes away just hours after Munster triumph

There was a massive array of contrasting emotions for Tipperary camogie captain Karen Kennedy last Saturday after leading her side to a Munster title in FBD Semple Stadium, when news filtered through that her beloved grandmother Anne 'Nance' Kennedy had passed away suddenly on Saturday evening.

She passed away in her 96th year peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Martin and son Declan (Deck), will be sadly missed by her adored family, daughter Nora (Moore), sons Tom, P.J., John and Fintan, son-in-law Denis, daughters-in-law Margaret, Eileen, Nora and Margaret, her 16 cherished grandchildren and three great grandchildren, sister-in-law Maureen and cousin Eugene, her wonderful carers, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She will be reposing in Kennedy's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles this Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to arrive in the Cathedral of the Assumption on Tuesday morning at 10.30 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
