Traffic is moving well enroute to Thurles for the sell out hurling match but expect delays

Traffic congestion will be heavier than usual in Thurles today

Motorists making their way to Thurles for this afternoons double header are advised to travel early and allow time for parking and entry into the Stadium for the sell out games this afternoon.

Over 40,000 people are currently making their way to Thurles from across the country with many travelling by car to the ground which can create tailbacks and delays from Killinan into the town as well as from approach roads off the motorway.

Thousands of others will travel via train and buses but motorists are advised to use the numerous car parks near the Stadium and across the town.

Travelling early to the ground is key to avoid congestion. The first game of the double headers sees the Tipperary footballers take on Down in the Tailteann cup while the Munster hurling championship round robin game between Tipperary and All-Ireland champions Limerick takes place at 4pm.
